Work Experience:

CAPGEMINI FINANCIAL SERVICES, Rosemont, IL, January 2016 – Present:

WCAG 2.1 Level AA Conformance Developer at LPL Financial, Fort Mill, SC. Lead Developer on an ADA remediation project using Agile methodology with offshore resources. I held daily stand-up meetings with the offshore team. I performed manual and automated tests on Web and Mobile assets as well as UI code updates.
Full-Stack Developer at Wells Fargo, Charlotte NC. Worked as part of an Agile team based in Charlotte on a portal to expose banking APIs for developers to consume using React and Redux on Spring Boot with Mongo DB, Swagger and WS02. Responsible for implementing functionality in the Single-Page Application to support Accessibility/WCAG 2.0.
Lead User Experience Developer at CNA, Chicago, IL. Specializing in user interface and interaction design using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript (jQuery, Angular & Bootstrap) on IBM WebSphere Portal Server. Developed interfaces and interactions for a new Enterprise Content Management System named Inside CNA and Knowledge Base using Agile development methodology. Personally delivered custom iPad functionality specifically requested by the client that was considered impossible by the rest of the team.

User Experience Designer at Aon Hewitt, Lincolnshire, IL. Specializing in user interface and interaction design using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript. Designed and developed interfaces and interactions for Your Spending Account migration to new “UPoint” technology platform – AlloyUI on Liferay CMS.

Lead User Experience Designer at King Fisher Inc., Des Plaines, IL. Specializing in user interface and interaction design using XAML and VB.Net. Redesigned user interface and interactions for dispatcher views of new radio alarm system.

SOGETI USA, Westchester, IL, March 2011 – March 2015:

Senior Consultant – I specialized in User Interface and Presentation Layer design and development. Projects include: Developing user interfaces for a vehicle auction application built on the jQuery library and ASP.NET (C#).
Lead UI Developer for a banking portal using Dojo and jQuery on Oracle Weblogic Portal Server. I helped solve a show-stopper technical issue with User-Centric Design combined with modern Ajax. I designed and implemented a User Interface for a mobile CRM application demo that helped win $1M contract. Led a team that won third place in a hack-a-thon for the American Cancer Society using Angular.js and Bootstrap on ASP.Net. Redesigned and implemented the interface for an ID management portal using Angular.js and Bootstrap on JBoss portal server.

PSC GROUP, LLC, Schaumburg, IL, July 2010 – February 2011:

Senior Consultant – I specialized in User Interface and Presentation Layer design and development. Projects included: Developing user interfaces for a vehicle selector application using faceted navigation built on the EXT-JS library and ASP.NET (C#), developing user interfaces for an insurance application program, using EXT-JS on IBM WebSphere Java Server Pages and developing a Pharmaceutical inventory reporting/charting application built on the Pentaho Business Intelligence (BI) Suite and Java Server Pages with a “dashboard” built in Adobe Flex.

THE JOINT COMMISSION, Oakbrook Terrace, IL, October 2009 – July 2010:

Senior Web Designer/Developer/Usability Analyst (contractor through TEK Systems) I helped to design and develop a new informational web application for the Joint Commission’s extranet. Built in ASP.NET (VB) with AJAX, jQuery and Adobe Flash/Flex on the User Interface, the application is an example of a Rich Internet Application (RIA). I saved the department $9,000.00 in outside vended costs by providing User Interface Design expertise. I initiated User-Centric design practices by suggesting user tests. I helped to pre-screen potential candidates for other roles on the team. I designed and created style sheets (CSS) and JavaScript for a redesign of the Extranet. I participated in the redesign of their client on-boarding application and delivered web forms built with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

DISCOVER FINANCIAL SERVICES, Riverwoods, IL, January 2009 – October 2009:

Senior Web Developer (contractor through TEK Systems) I maintained a custom Content Management Solution built on Lotus Domino and AJAX. The CMS used several JavaScript frameworks including: Prototype/Scriptaculous, ExtJS and YUI as well as several other JavaScript libraries and internally developed code. The CMS supported an ITIL Service Catalog for internal Discover customers. I directly supported the Service Managers as well as providing customer support for internal clients.

NATIONAL RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION SOLUTIONS, Chicago, IL, August 2008 – December 2008:

Independent Professional (contractor through Robert Half Technology) – I worked on Flash and Flex-based eLearning modules for the NRA Educational Foundation’s premier product: ServSafe. Working within a team of developers, I applied Spanish translations and bug-fixes to the ActionScript 3 code base. Using the Flash IDE, I applied updates, debugged and performed Quality Assurance to the modules and updated the Sharepoint QA logs. I also helped screen new candidates for the development team–All during a very aggressive delivery schedule.

HEWITT ASSOCIATES, Lincolnshire, IL, March 2008 – July 2008:

Independent Professional (Freelancer through Artisan Talent) – I prepared Web-based HTML, CSS and JavaScript-based demos for sales presentations and re-branded existing templates for customer web portals using HTML and CSS. I prepared potential designs in Photoshop (comps) and upon approval executed the designs in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Java using DreamWeaver and a custom Java-based build tool. Some of the clients I prepared branding templates for were: Dole Brands, Excelon, Kaiser Permanente, Mars Brands, Sara Lee and others. Some of the delivery times were same day for multiple concurrent projects. I also interfaced with the offshore development team and performed quality assurance on their deliverables to ensure compliance with Hewitt standards.

RUSH CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL, Chicago, IL, February – March 2008:

Independent Professional (Freelancer through Graphite Design) – Converted existing CD-ROM-based hospital tour into website using Macromedia Director and Shockwave. This immersive tour, aimed at younger viewers, prepares them for their experience while at the hospital. It includes music, audio and video. The videos are QuickTime VR, which enables a panoramic view of the operating rooms, recovery rooms and waiting rooms.

METHOD ENGINE, Chicago, IL, January 2008 – February 2008:

Independent Professional (Freelancer through Creative Circle) – Assisted in creation of website for TSTD using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML and PHP. Utilized several JavaScript libraries including MooTools and JQuery for rich interface elements, including Accordion controls and the Google Maps API to locate the nearest clinic. I improved the architecture and maintainability of the site by implementing PHP server-side includes for the common page elements.

Lead Interface Designer/Competency Lead – Responsible for design and implementation of interfaces for desktop and web applications for the firm. Designed and developed MS CMS 2002 solution for B2C e-Commerce web site using ASP.NET (C#). Performed site inventory and prepared taxonomy for site navigation. Designed page wireframes and templates. Provided heuristic usability evaluations and planned and executed user testing. Provided estimates of resources required for project completion.
